I can’t count the number of different techniques and layers it took to create this work. It was a long process, but I like the effect. It reminds me of an ancient Greek garden. Lush and large and full of wonder and mystery.
In Greek mythology, the Charities or Graces (Roman name) were three beautiful goddesses. Stories of the beauty and blooms (blooming) of Thalia come from long, long ago. Today we still benefit so richly from the influences of Classical Greece and Rome.
The more I looked at this painting, the more I thought of ancient times. I thought it belonged in an ancient garden with the mythical being Thalia enjoying its blooms.
