Art With Love, Art With Beauty, Art With Power

Dorothea Sandra, BA, EDAC, an Evidence-Based Design Artist

Hello!

I am Dorothea Sandra, BA, EDAC, and I am a popular international and national commissioned artist.

I create powerful abstract art and beautiful floral and landscape designs. I’ve written a book called 100 Days Of Happy Happy Art, Evidence-Based Design, and it’s about designing art for health and happiness based on credible medical/scientific studies.

My art has appeared in the Art Review sections of House & Garden, The World Of Interiors, and the Tatler, London magazines.

This summer my paintings and images of my art are at the Besser Museum, the Museum of Ojibwa Culture, The Northville Gallery, Main Street Art Gallery in Milford, Michigan, Seven Elements Gallery, Blue Heron Gallery, the Dragonfly Gallery, the Thunder Bay Art Gallery, and Art In The Loft.

People always tell me looking at my art actually makes them “feel” happy. I always tell them most of my pieces are “strategically designed” based on credible brain/art medical studies to do just that!

My Art Has Developed Into 5 Popular Brands

Brand 1: Waterside Wonderfuls

This brand began in my Great Lakes art studio with the name Lakeside Lovelies. It then evolved into the names Lakeside Lovelies and Great Lakes Lovelies. Since I was first trained to paint the Atlantic Ocean and because I could also see my years in Japan and the Pacific Ocean’s influence in my art, I renamed the brand to represent both lakes and oceans.

Brand 2: Woodsy Wonderfuls

My second brand I named Woodsy Wonderfuls. Rather than a waterside scene, I wanted to create images of flowers as if in a naturally occurring flower bouquet. My goal was to capture the feeling of being inside a deep woodsy nature-filled environment. I spent an entire childhood summer vacationing in a tent in a woodsy area along coastal Massachusetts. The next summer, I ended up camping in a tent in the White Mountains. Another summer, I vacationed on an island with lots of fishing huts and amazing wild flower gardens off the coast of Maine. My art studio today is in a lovely Great Lakes town bordered by Lake Huron and surrounded by forests, state parks, and a 270-acre conservation area.

Brand 3: Happy Happy Florals

Buyers keep telling me my art makes them feel good. They say my paintings give off special, upbeat, happy, positive vibes. They are strategically and deliberately designed to do this.

Brand 4: Bubble Art

Bubble Art is a name I made up because the flowers look like bubbles to me. They are not as easy as they look to create; however, they are fun and playful and they make many people super happy.

Brand 5: Dorothea Sandra Abstract Art

I love to paint many things, but I am at heart an abstract artist.
