IMPRESSIONISM: artists interpreting the world through their own eyes. (Penguin Random House Publishing: “Art That Changed The World”)

EXPRESSIONISM: artists communicating intense feeling through their work. (Penguin Random House Publishing: “Art That Changed The World”)

When art critics and art establishment people get together—whether cloaked in politeness or open transparency—they frequently debate, disagree, and argue.

Rest assured, this is a work of art in the Impressionism and Expressionism art categories.

In this piece, like many Impressionists, I portray overall visual effects, rather than fine, replication details. I also use short, sometimes broken, brushstrokes of mixed and unmixed colors, not blended smoothly or shaded. I capture “the impression” of a composition and give it my totally unique artistic interpretation.

Also, like many Expressionists, my goal is to create intense feelings in others. My art is rare (at least for now) because I use my “evidence-based design” (based on actual medical studies of design and health) knowledge and EDAC certification to deliberately and strategically create feelings of intense health and happiness through art.

Many artists of Expressionism strive to shock or scare people. I want my buyers and collectors to carry home with them works of art that create intense feelings of positivity and joy.

This painting was created to cheer or brighten a mood. Full of beautiful colors and happiness and hope. Inspiration for this painting came from my many walks along the shores of the Great Lakes. So lovely, so beautiful, so awesome!

24” x 36” Acrylic on Heavy Duty Gallery Wrapped Canvas. Quality materials and expert crating.

I am an artist and I am EDAC certified. “Evidence-based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) assesses your knowledge of the evidence-based design (EBD) process and its application in the design and development of healthcare environments. This educational program teaches you how to find, use and create relevant research to improve healthcare outcomes and add to the knowledge base of EBD.”
