Great Lakes Inspired Imaginative Art by Dorothea Sandra
This is a work of Impressionism and Expressionism. Traditional art stereotypes abound in the Great Lakes region: lighthouses, tankers, birch trees, pine trees, beach chairs by the lake. Not unlike the entire art world, where the majority of female art earns so little money and recognition, impressions and expressions from women are also underrepresented in this geographic region. I'm breaking the stereotype and doing something different through my Not Your Grandpa's Great Lakes Art series. This painting is Number 42.
